In the 110 years and more since its founding, Amano Enzyme has flourished, in harmony with nature, in the midst of Japanese culture and tradition, with a respect for all traditional values. Since ancient times, the Japanese have been using Aspergillus oryzae to create fermented foodstuffs (i.e., sake, miso and soy sauce); thus, I think that Japan can proudly claim to be a pioneer of biotechnology. Biotechnology is one example of the brilliant human intelligence acquired from the harmonized living with nature. Historically, a central core of biotechnology is “enzymology”. Over 60 years Amano Enzyme has been able to contribute to society through the various practical applications of enzymes. As we enter the 21st Century, we face serious environmental issues and shortages of food, energy, and other resources, and we strive to seek the solution of achieving a sustainable recycling-based society. We believe that enzymes will come to play an increasing role in this new industrial environment. We continue to hold on to the “Amano Spirit” (“Frontier Spirit”, “Spirit of Giving”, and “Passion, Love, and Sincerity”), which has provided our guiding principles since the company's founding. We are constantly attentive to the needs of society, and we are tireless in our efforts to create new values through our engagement and commitment to “enzymes”. We hope for your continued generous support and encouragement in the days to come. |
